    https://nkaonline.com/rules/

    NKA Rule Book 2018

    10.3.5: Competition Age
10.3.5.1: A driver’s competition age is determined by the age that they have turned, or will turn, during the course of that competition season. For example; a driver is 11 but will turn 12 during the year. Their competition age that year is 12.

10.3.5.2: The minimum age for any NKA event is 5 years, ‘actual age’. For example: a child is 4 in April, but turns 5 on June 10. They may not compete until June 10 when their actual age is 5.

The Maxxis Midwest Series will allow border-line aged junior drivers to advance up in lite and heavy, but can not advance up to the JR Pro class.
For example: An age 12, JR2, is allowed to compete in all JR2 classes, JR3 Lite, and JR3 Heavy, but can not compete in JR3 Pro.

***ALL JUNIOR DRIVERS MUST BRING A COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE*** - no exceptions

RaceCeiver is mandatory in all Junior classes. If the driver does not own a RaceCeiver, we will have them available for rent at each event for $10. However, the driver will need to provide his or her own earbuds.

Drivers will at all times be responsible for their own conduct and the conduct of their crews. Any offense committed by a crewmember may be chargeable directly to the driver. The Maxxis Midwest series will enforce a ZERO tolerance policy for foul language and fighting.
Fighting will result in immediate suspension for they and possibly for the year. All winnings will be forfeited to the next event, and add to that purse. The driver will not be allowed to participate in any NKA sanction event for 12 months.

Pre-registration for Race #1 will be open from March 19 - April 17. The link will be posted on the Maxxis Midwest Facebook page and this page.

It's going to be watched closely by tech. There's a lot of talk but not sure if there is any results to indicate it's a problem.

That's a very open response, Either it's against the rules or not and If so If 1 person is caught using it, It's a problem.

I read that a few series/tracks down south have banned them, and have stated they will require tires to be dismounted in tech to make sure theyre not being used.....

Yeah it’s pretty sad you can prep/cut/soften/harden/alter the tire in about anyway you desire with chemicals that shouldn’t even be in the hands of the public and it’s ok, but someone thinks outside the box “what we as racers are supposed to do” and Your not allowed to do it!! Makes sense

You shouldn't be allowed to to do " any " of the above things you mentioned, would really level the field. You gotta start somewhere! Maybe this is just the first step! Hopefully!

heard a nasty rumor today....next race scheduled for brookings sd may need to be moved due to excessive rain and subsequently whether or not the track will be in the condition needed and wanted by everyone, I assume that the track fills up with h20 when it rains....and evidently there hasn't been any racing there for quite a while.....downing mo has been mentioned as a possible new locale.....sure we'll hear more...hopefully soon......

Been in this sport for 14 years, and "way back when", none of the things you mentioned were being done - at least on a local level. And no, the same people were not always winning. You could come to a race with a 10 year old kart, just decent tires, and if you were a good driver, you could have an excellent chance to win! It used to be much more about the "driver", not about how much money you had to spend on tires!

I don't race the maxxis series, and I haven't seen that you have been either. But my friends do, and as far as I know its a great series, a lot of fun, not that expensive, and a lot of comradery. Never heard them say a negative word about it. Its progress and we need it. I can't think of a negative word to use against progress and success.

I just took a look at the weather for next week and you might be on to something. I would think if they would move it they would run the following weekend so we could shift plans.
