    Syracuse Indoor

November 30th and December 1st. Syracuse, NY. New York State Fairgrounds.

Download the event flyer by clicking on the "Entry Form (PDF)" link at syracuseindoor.com/drivers.

There are some changes this year, so please go over the entry form carefully. Some highlights:

    1) Racing both Friday and Saturday. Check your class on the entry form for specifics.

    2) Registration and Friday practice are moved up to earlier on Friday. If you are racing on Friday, plan to get there a bit earlier than you would have in past years. Saturday starts later than in the past.

    3) Pro classes pay $1,000 to win, top five positions pay out.

    4) Pro classes only: right side any Vega tire. Amateur classes open tire.

    1) Pit passes are $20 each day, so $40 if you are there both days.
    2) No transponder fee.
    3) Each entry gets one pit spot (there's no additional fee, it's part of registration).

So no timing or will that change? Will there be last minute pay reserve spots?

No transponders. Also if you want to reserve a 'special' spot the fee is $40. per spot. As Dana mentioned earlier, each Kart that is entered you do get one spot included in your entry. No additional charge. Thank you!

Champs are welcome and will race on Saturday. Just write in your class at the bottom of the registration form.

Any chance that champ animals can run Friday night? Last year we had one of the biggest divisions.

No, at least not this year.

For the past 25 years this event had racing only on Saturday. This year we are experimenting with expanding it to two days.

The race time available on Friday is much shorter than on Saturday. Friday already has as many classes as seems reasonable to run in the time available.

Once we have more experience with a two-day event, we hopefully can be more flexible about which classes run on which days. But for this year, we are being extra cautious.

These classes are being added for Saturday:

    LO206 Classes, Jr. and Sr.

These didn't make it onto the registration form, but just write them in please.

Just to clarify: all Champ classes will run on Saturday. That information was not on the original entry form, but it is on the updated online form. You can download the entry form at Syracuse Indoor Registration Form.

I'm not sure I'm answering your question here, so if not, please let me know....

The LO206 class on the entry form, which says "LO206, 8-12 years, 260 pounds" is a Jr flat kart class.

If you are running a Jr or Sr Champ LO206, that's great, but please write in your class somewhere in the blank part of the entry form.

The deadline for advance registration is November 14th (6 more days). After that, prices go up and checks will no longer be accepted.

Early indications are that we'll have a good turnout. Looking forward to seeing old and new faces in Syracuse!

I'm coordinating the website and the flyer, so it's my problem if they disagree. Can you be more specific about where they disagree? I'm probably just blind, but I'm not seeing it.

Ok to start the website says Saturday November 30th, the 30th is Friday.
There’s nothing on the website for spectators to even know we’re racing Friday night. Just says gates open at 11am and racing continues throughout the afternoon.
Mop the entry form times are for the racers and the website is for spectators, that hasn’t changed in 10 years. The issue is the days are wrong and it looks like we’re racing Saturday and Sunday....

There are two audiences here: (1) racers and pit crews on the one hand, and (2) the general public on the other hand. The flyer is for the former, but the website has to be for both, so the website is a bit more general.

The flyer says (for Saturday) that (a) the building opens at 9 AM (for racers and crew), (b) practice starts at 10 AM, with (c) "racing to follow" (without getting specific about exactly when racing will start). We never really know exactly when racing will start on Saturday, because it depends on how long practice takes, and how long the driver's meeting lasts.

For spectators, the building opens at 11 AM for general admission, and so we say that racing will be approximately from 11 AM to 5 PM. That way, people have some idea about when to show up so they can see some racing.

If you are racing, you should follow the times on the flyer. If you are telling friends and family when they should show up to watch, use the "11 AM to 5 PM" guidance, and please emphasize "times are approximate".

I figured that for Saturday but not Friday. If I'm only running Saturday when get I get my stuff in the building? Will the doors get opened Saturday morning?
