With the Holliday season quickly approaching, I came up with a concept the other evening.

I help so many racers week in and week out who buy anywhere from a set of tires per year to dozens of sets of tires per year. These same racers are able to buy the prep they need to go racing. I started to think about how much money the average racer spends, and how difficult it is for many people on a budget to afford this hobby. Then, I started thinking about how some kids probably woudn't even get to race next year because they simply can't afford a set of tires, something most of us take for granted.

I came up with an idea that I would like to make a yearly thing, and if any other shops or individuals would like to hop on board, I would be happy for you to let me know, and I will take care of things.

I am looking for racers (specificaly Junior classes drivers) who are unable to afford new tires. No, not racers who can't afford new tires for their kid because they had to have a big screen TV, or make the payment on their F-350, but racers who are truly in need of some good equipment but couldn't otherwise get it. Racers who race week in and week out, not neccisarily to win, but for the pure enjoyment of the sport. Track champions, count yourselves out. Multi race winners, count yourselves out. We are looking for the racers who are truly in need of help so they can continue doing what they love!

From now until Friday, December 11th, please send me a story about a racer in need who you think should get a new set of rubber for the 2010 racing season. I would prefer that you suggest somebody outside of your immediate racing family or group of racers you run with. I am sure everybody knows of somebody at your local track who just can't swing things the way they need to. I want to hear stories, not just one sentence suggestions. I will judge the winner and their name will be announced on Friday, December 18th, 2009.

I will be giving away a full set of Maxxis HT3 Racing Tires mounted on new wheels. These will be new Eric Rendleman "Signature Series" Maxxis tires, mounted, cut, and prepped! If another shop or manufacturor would be interested in coming on board with me and sponsoring the wheels portion, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if any other shops would be interested in coming on board to give away any other products to racers in need, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me and I will work to head this whole thing up.

Remeber, please use good judgment when making suggestions for this giveaway. It is truly for the people who love karting, but can't afford to do it. For me, it's not about publicity, it's the matter of giving back to a sport that's given so much to me over the years. I have been fortunate to be able to make a living doing what I love to do, and now it's time to help somebody else do what they love to do. God Bless.

Jon Keister of Keisters Karting Product said he would be willing to give away a kart stand to a deserving racer as well. Tommy Hogan from Laurinburg,NC said he would make a set of kart decals for somebody we feel is in need of a better looking kart. Hopefully we can get enough stuff together so that we can help several needy racers this Holliday Season!

Well this deal is getting bigger than I expected. A lot of my friends and business associates are hopping on board to make sure we can get a lot of products to some deservingn racers.

Here is a list of what will be given away so far:

why dont u guys put that money in a charity,like shop with a cop or something of that nature.if a kid is getting the chance to race go karts,im sure there family is not in neer the need as lots of familys out there who dont have FOOD to eat.that would be the thing in my JMO.pc

There are tons of charities that give to needy families all year long. I don't know of any charities (I'm sure there are some) that give out racing products. I think it's an awesome idea.

nevermind, lets keep this thing in the right direction. this deal is gonna make some kids smile come christmas time, and that makes it worth while period.

ps- We did something like this during our racing year, one of our racers mother suddenly passed away, which cut the families income by half, so we supplied Oil and Fuel for the remainder of the year. Guess you could just say we take care of the racing family.

Rob, youre right on with the whole charities taking care of the other kids BUT this 1 is going to help a racer. One thing some dont realize, this may keep a kid from drugs, from guns, from the things in life today that can and does hurt a child. Maybe with this help, this will be the next racing superstar which wouldnt have been able to do IF not for this. Im proud to be part of a sport which does things like this, its an amazing feeling.
