You left out a ton of people.
AGK, Your O-Ring guy, Me, Rene, Baby, Home Alone, Your Balance Guy, Comp Cams, and Lani. That's all I can think of right now.
And Soichiro for being religous about 4 strokes.... 8)
That is a incredible speed in a 1/4 for a non blown non nitrous industrial single motor less than 500cc!!!!!!
wonder what she'd do on the el mirage dry lake with a little taller gear???
The bike had I believe 18/55 gearing, 3.06 ratio.
On that pass it was only in testing, but later that day when it was more dialed in it really turned up to 8400+ RPM.

What brand/size tire is on the back? Is that a 11.5 X 7.10 x 6" Burris "33" and how wide of rim is it on?
Just wondering if it is rated for those kind of speeds..

Same tire thats comes from the factory on a Tony 125cc shifter set up.

An 11.00 x 7.10 x 5" Bridgestone on a 210mm rim?
Circumference = Pi (3.14) times Diameter
Also did you see in the Video when the guy was messing with the fuel line and he shows how much slop there is in the neck of the frame? Was that you Chuck?
I would think that would make anyone nervous at high speed....You need to help these kids understand the consequences of not wearing leathers at high speeds when the thing is about to fall apart..

About 80% of the bikes out there have some slop in the neck of the frame. It makes the bike fill like it has just a little suspension if you were to hit a bump, or dip in the street. If not the front end will bounce a little which is 10x more scary. When your weight is on the bike the neck doesn't move.
I have very little slop in mine, about 1/32" You can barley wiggle the front end. It's mainly because most of us don't have bearings in the neck. But with a bearing neck you can tighten it down 100% and it will still move smooth. But it will be really stiff if you hit a bump, or dip.
It works like this:
Longer, low frames are much easier to control if you hit a dip or bump. Short, high frames are much easier to come off the ground.
Bearings in the neck, or having at least 1/32" clearance allows you to turn your handle bars much easier. Without bearings, and no slop/clearance the handle bars will be hard to turn.
Look at this race and you can see the difference in suspension. Both have bearing necks with no slop.
I don't have to make anyone understand anything. We have been over this subject many times.
They are not my kids, and half the time there parents are there, or dropped them off there so that can race. They guys you see on real fast bikes are grown men, just small.
No, I'm the guy video taping it, that's my buddy draining the fuel. I have to question him on some of the stuff he does.
This is me, I build, ride, tune, and race my own bike. I set the bike up for my own weight, so I can race others of the same weight or lighter than me.
MDBike,
Are you guys allowed to ride where you ride? From the videos, it looks like you guys just take over a street in the middle of town! Just curious if you ever get hassled by "the man". I know around here if a group of "bruthas" was racing up and down the street on "homemade contraptions" they would be busted super fast.
I think I wanna build a mild minibike. Where do you get your frames and odds and ends? Thanks!
Yeah we get hassled every once in a while. It had got way to bad on are old street, "Manville"
We had got these new guys with cars that have started this new thing called "Stunting" basically drifting, burn outs, and racing. This has cause the police to shut us down, so we moved over to another street.
We have local minibike shops where you can just walk in and buy a frame or whole minibike. The same place also makes custom frames which is what most of us bigger older, faster guys get. A stock bare frame only cost about $100, and a custom bare frame cost about $200. The rest is your own imagination.
The places where we race are industrial business streets were there is no business going on while it's the weekend. So the street is vacant.

Well it sure looks like a lot of fun.
Good prices on those frames. Do your suppliers have websites so the rest of the country can order from them?
Good sticky compound(YKH Superkart tire) on the new one? Any idea what it punches?
No idea yet, as luck would have it do to a mechanical problem on the bike and a error on my part the bike was crashed last weekend. The rider is fine as he bailed off at the last moment. Bike will be back in a couple weeks, rider was already back racing this weekend....
2 more years and my son will be running the GX390. Hopefully in that time more parts are available. The guys that are running them already don't look as modified as your motor does.
How much did it cost to build the motor to it's current state? Anything custom on, or in the motor that no one sells?
