When I first posted the " World 100" there seemed like alot of interest. But alot of drivers wanted to know what the rules would be before they could commit to this race. So I had a meeting with my regular friday night clone racers and this is what we came up with : www.layfieldracing.com ( hit rules then scroll down to clone rules) It looks like the race is gonna pay $500.00 to win $300.00 for 2nd $200.00 for 3rd $150.00 for 4th $125.00 for 5th $100.00 for 6th $75.00 for 7th $50.00 for 8th $40.00 for 9th $30.00 for 10th $20.00 for 11th thru 20th place. A.M.S. has comitted to this race now along with it's sponsers now it's up to you guys to get on here and let me know what you think! Even though the Bill Layfield Memorial Race is a big event for several classes this 1 individual race will be A.M.S. biggest race EVER! Please let me know who is planning on making this event. Just out of appreciation I would like to thank The Texas Hot restaurant, Baldwin Forest Products, Ungerman Excavating and Sandburg Oil Co. for there help in this event. If anyone out there would like to get involved in this race with some give-aways and promote there race team or business give me a call at 1 585 593 1177 This race no dought will be exciting and fun! John
I will be planning to attend this race. First time with a clone but will be fun!
Also speaking of tires, Lightning Cuts will be offering 2 gift certificates for free labor on a set of cut tires or refinish. One will be for a random spot in the a-main and one random draw out of all participants.
Hoping this race will get bigger and better and more peoplle do what they can to make this a premere event.
First of all Thanks Lance for your gift to this race! You were close BUCHAY but it's only 40 bucks entry fee! You were rite on the tire deal NO TIRE RULE except you can not exceed 9 inches wide thats it! Who knows with these clones somebody might have hoka wan tokie tires on and guess what there legal as long as they don't exceed 9 inches HA HA HA. I don't care that one there was funny!!! L.O.L. John
The weight limit is 350 lbs and I believe with the A.K.R.A. the color of the engine dos'nt matter. Just gotta follow the measurements of A.K.R.A. Rob if the regular racing season is over then Oct 3rd just buy another one and both of you can race. John
Looking like you're going to have enough. Tom just isn't were he needs to be for a race of that length and caliber of drivers who will want to compete without excessive cautions! But sometimes it ends up that way anyways.. who knows.. We'll see when we get there.

Your rite Rob this will be a "statement" race for sure! It really would'nt matter if you paid a nickel to win its still gonna be a cool race! It will consist allmost entirely of driving skills set up and endurance of man and machine only the tough will show up for this one! However you are good at set up your boy will have the endurance part covered I think he's a perfect canidate for this type of race. Plus he still has the rest of the season to sharpen up on his driving skills. My theroy would be take care of my kart and stay in the lead lap up to around lap 80 85 then $$$$$$$ HAMMER DOWN!!!! 5 BEANS is alot of money!!!! John
Also VERY IMPORTANT don't forget on the day of the " World 100" there will be 3 other races consisting of Super Stock, Extreme Stock (hillbilly) and Purple plate. These 3 races will be 25 laps and 100% payback !!!! John
Just curious who all plans on racing the day of the " WORLD 100 " ? And what classes are you planning on running in ? Just wanna get an idea of Kart counts per class. Thanks John
I've been getting quite a few phone calls concerning the "World 100" people that don't get on Bob's but have heard about it. It really looks like it may be a bell ringer of a race! One guy called me from somewhere up in Mass said he was coming wanted to know about the rules. A bunch of guys over around the Corning area have either called or been in the store saying they will be here. I was just hopeing more would hop on here and let me know so I can plan in advance. Sometimes on these big races I guy can under estimate kart count and things can get out of controll. You end up spending half the day trying to figure out were to park them all. I would say rite now theres a fair count of 40 clone karts that are gonna show. But who knows maybe a 100rd will show up! Theres a camp ground about 3 or 4 miles from the track you could camp at if you want to. In wellsville about 6 miles away theres 3 or 4 motels you can stay at. Or you can get here on the 2nd Friday and camp in the pits. No matter what ya wanta do we'll acomadate ya somehow! Cause it's gonna be a BLAST and you don't want to miss it!!! Let me know guys! Thanks John
I'm starting to stock up on these clone engines. If anybody wants one let me know 1 585 593 1177 Also this Saturday 7/11 gates open at 3:00 racing at 5:00 we are having a big race for all classes including clones! You might want to look into it to prepare for the "World 100" give me a call and I'll explain the race to ya or respond back to this post. We have also switched over to the new rules for the clone class which will start on 7/11 (FIRECRACKER 40's) go to www.layfieldracing.com for the rules. Thanks John
Are you guys tired of talking about the " WORLD 100 " for now ? Must be everybody has a pretty good understanding of the rules, Purse, Date, etc. Maybe I'll wait a month and then fire it back up again. Just don't forget to mark it on your calendar! It's 1 you don't want to miss! John
I'll look forward ta havin ya! Lets all work togather on making this a "BIG" event!!! Something that may turn into something huge for the years to come. Not a race of who bought it but 100 laps of pure driving skill !!! It's gonna be exciting thats for sure!!! John
Bob there will be a mandatory pitstop on lap 50 on the backstretch just like the 25 lap pitstop for the B.L.M. I've had a few drivers ask me the same question it just makes things easier for scoring and flagging. Also a break for the drivers to catch there breaths a little and make any necesary changes to there karts. The pit stop will only be a few minutes long. John
Count another one in from southern Pennsylvania.. how is qualifying going to be done for this? Heats? Time trials? Also, I noticed you guys don't have a clutch driver rule on your website. I'm assuming gearing is open? Thanks...

If we can make 100 laps on fuel (which I hear we can) Then why stop? Real men can go 100 laps! Call it the IRONMAN 100
Bigbore where's Claysburg? Yes any gear on the clutch. Any shoe type clutch allowed but remember there is a $75.00 claimer on them. You will qualify through the heat if you don't get in the a-main through the heat then there will be a b-main depending on kart count will depend on how many heats and how many we will take from heats. We are going to pay a decreased purse for the b-mains probably take two from b-mains. The top two will have the option to take the money or advance to the A-main. B-mains will pay 50.00 40.00 30.00 20.00 10.00 back to 10th. No time trials they take to long and everybody complains about them. bmur66 good idea maybe next year we will have a "IRONMAN 100" in addition to the "WORLD 100" don't let me forget! It really is a great idea! But for this year I wanna stick with something we're used to. Thanks John
I agree!!! Can' wait to see it all play out. One thing for sure it will be alot of racing for you guys! Also everybody keep in mind on the same day we will be having 3 other events that will be quite exciting also. (3) 25 lap features for Super Stock, Extreme Stock, Purple Plate. All 3 will pay back 100%. John

That kinda defeats the purpose to the 100 laps. If your gonna stop, Then Make it quick, and NO TOUCHING THE KART, or making adjustments. And PLEAS, leave the karts in the order that they were in, none of the race to the frontstretch crap!
Im with Murph.. IRONMAN 100 is exactly what I had in mind.. Pit stop only long enuf to top off with fuel,, then get em goin again. NO working on the kart..
Post #27 "Make necessary changes" So does this mean you can touch the kart? How many crewpeople allowed on track at lap 50? 2 like other races? just inquiring? Thanks
