Coil gap

What gap do i need to run from the coil to the flywheel magnet?

I run about .025 or 2 business cards.....some say no less then .040, but the closer you can run it, the better the spark. This is with a billet, as cfor the cast steel, try to tun close on those b4 and had the magnet come off and or lift slightly and break the coil off the block.....

re-adjust it to .025" or a little more.. with the "stackup" of clearances from the crank bearings/pockets/out of tollerance parts/loose runout.. it may be getting close to "contact" at high rpm.. which will shut down the ignition system.. more than .035" will over saturate the coil and burn it out sooner..

I used a 1$ bill in between the coil and flywheel on my gx160, worked good, never had a problem with slack and making contact with the coil, But than again i never turned anything over 6000RPM

yeah mine spins about 8k+ but 6500-7600 regularly
