correct me if i'm wrong, but didnt they already try this once before just recently and didnt it fail miserably with certain drivers/teams ending up having to come back to the WoO with their tails between their legs?
Rumor has it Tony Stewart will be announcing tomorrow he will be starting a new sprint car series... running Hoosier tires. He will be pulling his cars out of the WoO series and start his own.

That would be the NST (National Sprint Tour); a joint venture between the Petty's and Kinser. Apparently, Kinser is in on this new series also...

i doubt that stewart will pull his cars from the woo because of the sponsor commitments he has in place as i'm sure those sponsors want the tv time the woo provides . but anything is possible
i heard kinser has lost the quaker state sponsorship for 2010 and is having surgery in december on his neck.
he may be slated to drive for new teams funded by stewart as well as the proposed series will start out running 3 states maybe 4 indiana, ohio, pennsylvania , possibly ill.
its no secret that stewart dislikes goodyear and they are trying to run hoosier out of buisness throwing money at different series, and the major track promoters as well to achieve their goal
mabey tony will use water on the tracks so they can get up and go fast again

And we all know Steve Kinser is no fan of the WoO management, he has made that perfectly clear in the past. The worst thing about it is splintering the already low WoO car count. At our local track, Eagle Raceway, I think there were only a handful of WoO regulars there, and the rest were local field fillers in 360's. They guarantee like $400.00 tow money, to get the 360's to come out and fill the field.
And with the alternatives out there in sprint car racing, sprint car racing might be better off without the WoO. We'll just have to sit tight and see how it plays out.
There have been a couple splits with the WoO. I think back in the 80's it was the USA. Kinser, Wolfgang and several others went with the USA, it never lasted and they all came home to the WoO.
Hoosier has helped Tony along the way and now that Goodyear is buying their way into WoO, he is taking his operation to a new series that is starting that only runs Hoosier tires. I think it is an awsome move and really shows his dedication to who has helped him in the past. He has said on more than one occasion that Goodyear needs some competition in NASCAR like Hoosier.
I know a guy that Tony drove karts for when he was a teenager and Tony worked for him too. He said Tony never forgets anyone who has helped him in the past....no matter how small the gesture. The media and non-fans often turn things around and people would rather hear the bad things that a person "supposedly" did than to hear the real story. A person in Tony's position can't please everyone....he'd never get anything else done. He's obviously doing something right.

the series was moving along nicely from what i understand until the owner got killed, hit by a modified if i recall correctly. from then, the financing of the series needed dwindled.
i dont think the new series is so much a shot at the World of Outlaws, but more of a shot towards the All Stars Circuit of Champions. webb who runs the series now after he bought the series a few years back when it was an excellent series, has really been... making a LOT of people mad at him.
i think a lot of the drivers from IN, OH, and PA will find particular interest in the new divisional series as it is only limited towards a few states like a real divisional series, rather than almost nation wide like the divisional series that the allstars was meant to be. it allows traveling teams to actually hold a job while racing unlike the current schedule.
harrym, my how fast some forgot the USA series. which in my opinion was dead from the get go , allowing the engines they did was going to kill it. many cannot compete with that $$ nor try. I wish tony luck.
