gearheads paradise?... definitelly
don't miss tomorrow the Abu Dhabi formula one circuit, it's like disneyland and heaven for motorsports, the circuit cost was US$ 1.200.000.000 and is just unbelievable, the race starts late in the day and finishes in the nigth, it's a combination of ligths and landscapes that seems pulled out of the 1001 nigths, there is a hotel rigth in the circuit as well as a marina, there is exuberance everywere, the parking lot was full of ferraris, rolls royce and all kinds of exoticars, there are 7 90 degree turns, the quilifying session was very good today, I must go there some day, I'll start digging my backyard today maybe I find oil or gold.

Re: gearheads paradise?... definitelly
It's unbelievable how much extra money there is out there. I'll bet it's sold out to boot. Can you imagine putting out over a billon dollars to build a race circuit here, in what many say is the riches country in the world?

Re: gearheads paradise?... definitelly
that blue paint that is around the track is some sticky stuff to help keep the cars on the tarmac and to keep the sand from invading the track... where else can you see that?
The hotel roof changes colors continusly during the race, the screens are humungus and high definition and there are lots of them everywere, there are spectator stands over the pits, one part of the course is a replica of a famous stadium and is a great place to be because of the sigth and sound of the cars, the guests of the hotel enjoy the best seats of the track while they sip champagne... etc etc.. a place only a sheik could build. I'm sure if it was built in the USA the world will raise to say how stupid are the gringos building that monster while there are children starving in africa ... strange world isn't it? have you tougth that many of your hard earned dollars ended up building that track? how much arabian gasoline did you buy last year? Re: gearheads paradise?... definitelly
Yes the track was incredible, but I would still prefer to watch the F1 race at Monaco. As nice as it looks I still think is a shame to spend all that money while so many people don't even have any food or home, not just in Africa, but also in South and Central America and even in the US. I love racing, but I think we need to think more on people in need. Some of us can finish in a situation like that, nothing is granted in life.

Just another way for the rich arabs to flaunt all the money they are making off us,
besides funding bin laden. Makes me sick......... |

Re: gearheads paradise?... definitelly
They had better enjoy it now. When oil supply and demand dries up (and it will someday), all those Royal famliy members will have to actually go out and get a job. It is disgusting.
The track is spectacular, there's no debating that. But glutoney (sp?) on that scale is a sure ticket to hell. |

Re: gearheads paradise?... definitelly
Right, but the problem I see is in the US we depend a lot on oil too, part of the strength of the Us lies on the much lower price of gas here than in Europe or othe areas of the world, even nowadays, I think we should get ready for the end of the oil age, even those of us who like playing with our gas toys so much.
